The Project EFD Social: implementation and effects

Hosted by Ernst & Young Terco Labor and Social Security Area

The project EFD Social is a module of the Public Digital Bookkeeping System (SPED). Introduced by Decree No. 6022 in 2007, the SPED is part of the Growth Acceleration Program by the Federal Government (PAC 2007-2010), and a further step towards the computerization of the relationship between the tax authorities and taxpayers.

Its goal is to consolidate data on payroll and supplementary obligations. Accordingly, in the first phase of implementation, payroll, GFIP and Manad will be filed as a single obligation.

The schedule of the project has been delayed several times, but recently, the news referenced the implementation time-frame of August 2013 (estimated timeline of IRS).

Join our session for the latest insights on trends and practical matters including:

  • Planning of schedules and budgets to suit and prepare payroll environments for the implementation of Project EFD Social
  • Internal controls and communication flows between areas/departments
  • Importance of review of labor and social security practices
