Health Care Innovation Challenge

A time sensitive funding opportunity for innovative healthcare projects

Please join a panel of Ernst & Young LLP professionals from the Tax Credits and Incentives and Healthcare Advisory groups for discussion of a new funding opportunity announced by the Department of Health and Human Services, and available for innovative projects that would deliver high-quality health care services and lower costs. Panelists will discuss how organizations can benefit from the recently announced opportunity, and reduce the implementation costs of programs that deliver better health, improved care and lower costs to people enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Funding awards will range from $1 million to $30 million per project over a three-year period, with a total of $1 billion in funding to be allocated. This opportunity will benefit a diverse group of innovators involved in developing service/payment improvement models that have the potential to deliver better outcomes for high risk/high opportunity populations including Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries. The funding opportunity is available to provider groups, health systems, payers and other private sector organizations, faith-based organizations, local governments, and public-private partnerships and for-profit organizations.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Funding opportunity overview
  • Eligible applicants
  • Key attributes for a successful project
  • Evaluation criteria for projects
  • Important deadlines
  • Application and submission requirements

Audience participants are encouraged to ask questions throughout the webcast.
