Jurjan Wouda Kuipers is a member of Ernst & Young LLP's Tax Services practice in New York, where he serves on the Luxembourg Tax Desk. Jurjan frequently advises US multinationals on the tax aspects of centralizing European holding, financing or licensing activities in Luxembourg, as well as on the tax implications of pan-European acquisition strategies, mergers and joint ventures.

Jurjan has over 20 years of experience in both Europe and the US. He has worked on a variety of international tax matters, including providing tax advice in connection with the structuring of mergers and acquisitions, cross-border investments and reorganizations, real estate transactions and cross-border financial instruments.

Jurjan is also the US-based representative of Ernst & Young's European Union (EU) Competency Group, a network of individuals from EY Global member firms who closely follow pan-European developments, such as the Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base proposal and the European Court of Justice cases and their impact.

Jurjan holds three master's degrees: Tax Law, Corporate Law and Individual (Private) Law). He is a frequent speaker on EU and Luxembourg tax matters, both at firm-sponsored events and events sponsored by organizations such as the Tax Executives Institute, European American Tax Institute and the International Fiscal Association. Jurjan has authored several published articles.

Karen Holden is Ernst & Young LLP's Director of International Tax Services for the Mid-Atlantic Sub-Area. Based in the Philadelphia office, she provides services related to international tax planning for US multinational companies, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and tax issues related to supply chain restructurings.

Karen has over 20 years of tax advisory experience. She began her career with the Department of Treasury Office of Chief Counsel in Washington, D.C., working in both the Corporate Reorganizations and International Tax divisions. She dealt with cross-border mergers, acquisitions and dispositions. Karen joined Ernst & Young LLP's International Tax Services national office in 1992. She transferred to the Ernst & Young member firm in The Netherlands in 1994 to lead the US Desk in Amsterdam. Returning to New York in 1998, she built a multi-disciplinary team to help clients across the US design and implement cross-border structures, as well as foreign tax credit planning, post-acquisition integrations, holding company structures and tax-efficient supply chain planning.

Karen received a B.A. from Michigan State University, a J.D. from The Thomas M. Cooley Law School and an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center.

Karen Simonin is a member of Ernst & Young LLP's Swiss Tax Desk in New York. She joined Ernst & Young in 2000 and has extensive experience in inbound investment in Switzerland, advising multinational companies on international tax matters, reorganizations and corporate tax planning.

Karen has assisted multiple clients with supply chain reorganizations, including corporate tax work stream coordination, assistance with local country tax issues, permanent establishment exposure, analysis of conversion risks and post-implementation review. She has significant experience negotiating principal company tax regimes as well as other tax rulings with the Swiss tax authorities.

Karen received a Bachelor of Business Management and a Master of Corporate Taxation from Paris IX Dauphine University. She is a Swiss Certified Tax Advisor. Karen is a member of the International Fiscal Association and a lecturer on international tax matters.

Michael Anderson serves as a partner with the Transaction Tax team of Ernst & Young (Australia), providing transaction advisory support and advice in relation to social and economic infrastructure projects and mergers and acquisitions. Michael is currently on assignment as an international director with Ernst & Young LLP in New York, where he leads the firm's Australian Tax Desk.

Michael's practice area is corporate and international taxation. During his career, he has developed a deep knowledge of the Australian income tax issues facing large domestic and foreign corporate groups, structuring and executing complex cross-border transactions, mergers and acquisitions (including due diligence assignments), and the direct tax aspects of infrastructure and public private partnership transactions.

Michael has a BA (honors) from Australian National University and a Master of Commerce (Accounting) from University of New South Wales. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
