Nicholas Giordano Nick is one of the leaders of Ernst & Young LLP's Washington Council Ernst & Young group. Nick provides services related to tax and budget issues. Prior to joining Ernst & Young LLP, Nick served as the Chief Tax Counsel of the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance, where he advised the Committee and other members of the Senate on substantive tax policy issues, as well as budget and parliamentary issues. Prior to his position with the Finance Committee, Nick served as the National Director for Tax Legislative Services at Ernst & Young LLP. He has also served as Legislative Director and Tax Counsel for Senator Max Baucus, where his responsibilities included coordination of all Senate floor items.

Gary Gasper is one of the leaders of Ernst & Young LLP's Washington Council Ernst & Young group. He assists clients on a variety of matters before Congress, the White House, the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service. Gary provides services related to federal tax legislative and regulatory matters involving corporate taxation, financial products, tax-exempt entities, employee benefits, insurance taxation and other areas.

From 1989 to 1993, during Presidents George H.W. Bush and Clinton Administrations, Gary served as Senior Tax Advisor in the Office of Tax Policy at the Department of the Treasury and as Assistant to the Internal Revenue Service Commissioner. President George W. Bush selected Gary to serve on the 2000 "Transition Team" for the Department of the Treasury. He previously worked at a leading national law firm and served as an Attorney-Advisor to the Honorable Judge Perry Shields of the U.S. Tax Court. Gary also served as tax advisor to the National Commission on Economic Growth and Tax Reform (Kemp Commission).

Gary received a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois, a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. He is a certified public accountant licensed in the state of Illinois and in the District of Columbia. Gary is the former chair of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation's Government Relations and Formation of Tax Policy committees.

Michael Mundaca is Co-Director of the National Tax Department at Ernst & Young LLP.

Prior to re-joining Ernst & Young LLP in 2011, he served at the U.S. Treasury Department as the Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy, advising Treasury Secretary Geithner on all matters relating to taxation. Prior to his appointment as Assistant Treasury Secretary, Michael served from 2007-2009, during both the Bush and Obama Administrations, as the Deputy Assistant Treasury Secretary for International Tax Affairs. He also served at the Treasury Department during the Clinton Administration, in Tax Policy's Office of the International Tax Counsel, leaving as Deputy International Tax Counsel.

Prior to re-joining Treasury in 2007, Michael was a principal in the International Tax Services group of Ernst & Young LLP's National Tax Department in Washington, DC.

Michael holds a B.A. from Columbia University, an M.A. from the University of Chicago, a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and an LL.M from the University of Miami.

Eric Solomon is the Director of Ernst & Young LLP?s National Tax Department in Washington, DC. He has more than 30 years of tax experience in private practice and government service. Previously, Eric served as Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from December 2006 to January 2009. As Assistant Secretary, he headed the Office of Tax Policy, which serves as the primary advisor to the Treasury Secretary on legal and economic matters relating to domestic and international taxation. He is the recipient of several notable awards, including the Distinguished Executive Presidential Rank Award, the Kenneth H. Liles Award for Distinguished Service and the Alexander Hamilton Award, the highest award for service to the Treasury Department.
