James Egan James is the Leader of Ernst & Young LLP?s Global Immigration Practice, with operations in more than 90 countries and more than 450 immigration professionals.
A partner of Ernst & Young, James is also Managing Partner of Egan LLP, Canada?s largest immigration law firm (an independent law practice allied with Ernst & Young), with offices in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary. Egan LLP specializes in Canadian, U.S. and global business immigration issues. As an immigration lawyer for more than twenty years, James? practice is devoted to immigration and citizenship law, with emphasis on the movement and access of business people to Canada, the United States and countries throughout the globe for employment, business development, or foreign investment purposes. Jay Sternberg is the Global Technology Strategy Leader for the Ernst & Young LLP Human Capital group. Based in Houston, Texas, Jay is responsible for the development of the groups' technology direction to improve overall efficiencies surrounding expatriate program management and the global tax compliance process.
Jay has over 22 years of experience in planning, developing, and implementing systems and software for expatriate administration. He has conducted re-engineering projects to improve process efficiencies and workflow, especially in the areas of payroll processing, general ledger and accounting. Jay has developed a particular proficiency in helping companies work with tracking and reporting short term business travelers, developing strategies to mitigate the effects related to individual and corporate tax filing obligations. He is a frequent speaker and subject matter professional at expatriate, HR, and payroll conferences.
Jay received his Bachelor of Arts from Sarah Lawrence College, and his Masters in Business Administration and Masters in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. |

Mark Weinberger has recently been named as the next Global Chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young, succeeding the current Global Chairman and CEO Jim Turley, on his retirement. Mark is a member of the firm's Global Executive Board, and leads Ernst & Young's tax practice, which includes more than 25,000 people in 140 countries around the world. In addition, Mark maintains an active client service role, including serving as senior advisory partner with many of the firm's largest global clients.
Prior to his current position, Mark led Ernst & Young's Americas tax practice and was a member of the Americas Executive Board and the Global Management Group.
Through his career, Mark has spent considerable time in government service. He was Assistant Secretary of the United States Treasury (Tax Policy) in the Bush Administration, he served on the Social Security Advisory Board during the Clinton administration, and he has worked in the US Senate and on various senior tax policy and pension advisory committees. He also co-founded Washington Counsel, P.C., a US-based law and legislative advisory firm that merged into Ernst & Young LLP and now operates as Washington Council Ernst & Young.
Mark holds a B.A. from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, an M.B.A. and J.D. from Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio, and an LL.M from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. He sits on the Boards of Directors for The Tax Council and The American Council for Capital Formation in Washington, D.C.. |
